QR code generator. Free, forever, yours.

Paste a link, download a print-ready code. No account, no watermark, and no sneaky redirect: this code encodes your URL directly, so it never expires and nobody sits between your guest and your page.

Generated entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is sent anywhere.

Paste a link to generate.

Why this one and not the other free generators

Many free QR generators do not encode your link at all. They encode a shortened redirect through their own domain, which lets them track every scan, and lets them break your code later: when the trial ends or the company pivots, the printed QR on your wall starts opening an upgrade page. This tool encodes your URL directly into the code, generated entirely in your browser. There is nothing to expire, nothing to track, and nothing to pay for later. Print it once and it works as long as your link does.

Print it right

Two rules cover almost every placement. First, size: a QR code should be at least one inch (2.5 cm) square for arm's-length scanning, and roughly one tenth of the distance it will be scanned from, so a code read from across a room wants to be several inches wide. Second, contrast: dark code on a light background, never inverted, with a little white space around it. The PNG here is 1024 pixels, crisp up to about 10 inches; the SVG scales to a billboard.

Where hosts put them

The proven spots in a short-term rental: inside the entry door (the guidebook, scanned on arrival), on the fridge (the guidebook again, because the fridge is where eyes go), in the welcome binder for guests who like paper, and next to any appliance with instructions worth a video. One code per placement, each pointing at the exact page a guest needs in that spot, beats one code to a homepage.

The link behind the code matters more than the code

A QR code is a doorway, and doorways are judged by what is behind them. If yours opens a PDF that guests pinch-zoom on a phone, the scan was wasted. Point it at something built for the moment: a mobile-first guest guide with tappable sections, the WiFi up top, and a map that gives directions. Every Tabellara guide ships with a print-ready QR code automatically, which is one of the reasons we built this tool well: we had to anyway.

Give that QR code somewhere great to go.
